What is a verification of employment?

Answered by Onias Derilus, Mortgage Capital · NMLS# 1859012 · Florida licensed mortgage broker

A verification of employment (VOE) is the lender confirming your job and income directly with your employer, in writing and often again verbally just before closing. It's a standard underwriting step.

It's why staying at your job through closing matters. We coordinate the VOE so it doesn't catch you off guard near the finish line.
