Loan servicing is the ongoing administration of a mortgage, including collecting payments, managing escrow, and handling borrower requests.
What Loan Servicing means
The servicer may be the original lender or a company that bought the servicing rights. It's who you deal with for everything after closing.
Florida example
A Florida borrower's loan servicing might transfer to a national company weeks after closing. The loan terms don't change; only the payment address and customer service contact do.
