Can I get a mortgage on a mobile home?

Answered by Onias Derilus, Mortgage Capital · NMLS# 1859012 · Florida licensed mortgage broker

It depends on age and status. Pre-1976 'mobile homes' generally don't qualify for traditional mortgages, but post-1976 HUD-code manufactured homes permanently affixed and titled as real property do, through FHA, VA, USDA, or conventional.

If it's still titled as a vehicle, you'd convert it to real property first. We'll check the home's specifics and tell you whether mortgage financing is available.
